Ecuador has 2 main seasons: wet and dry. How you'll experience these seasons largely depends on where your vacation rental is located. Weather is generally mild in the highlands, with temperatures ranging between 50 and 76 degrees all year round. Temperatures can drop suddenly, though, so best to pack your wools. It's much warmer and more humid on the beach and in the Amazon basin, where temperatures swing from 80 to 90 degrees. The wet season varies in each region as well: it lasts from October to May in the highlands, January to April in the coastal regions, and April to November in the Amazon.
